The ParentComms app provides a UK-based service aimed at helping parents maintain communication with their children's schools. Key features include:

• Access to the OpenCheck service and the ability to subscribe to information feeds from their child's school(s).
• Automatic notifications for emergency school closures upon subscribing to OpenCheck.
• Conveniently checking scheduled school closures for holidays and training days.
• Opportunity for schools utilizing the AutoText service from Atomwide to make cost-effective communication saving via the app for parents and staff messages.
• Enhanced services through ParentComms:Pay+ offering updates on children's dinner money accounts and notifications about new school trips.

For school staff in USO-enabled schools, the app extends further functionalities:

• Ability for staff to update the school's opening status in emergencies through the app.
• Direct texting feature for staff to communicate with parents regarding situations like late-running school trips.
• School Nominated Contacts can access network usage graphs and CCTV monitoring if operating within the Atomwide CCTV system.

Upon installing the app, users are prompted to log in either by registering their mobile phone number or their USO user account, ending in .uso. This account type may already exist for users of the eAdmissions online application service. While logging in is optional, it can aid schools in saving costs.

It should be noted that the ParentComms app is primarily intended for schools to engage with parents. In case regular updates on a selected school's status are not received, direct coordination with the school is recommended to address this matter.
